Comprehensive academics The University offers 70 areas of study across a full spectrum of disciplines as well as a vari- ety of graduate programs. Remarkably, we’re one of only 36 colleges and universities in the US with national accreditation in all four areas of the arts—dance, music, theatre, and visual arts. Our nationally respected Arts program goes hand-in-hand with our vision to form Chris- tian artists who impact the world for Christ through excellence. Additionally, Belhaven is the only Christian college in America to offer a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing.
Distinctive, unique programs Belhaven features several distinct programs, including our Core Curriculum, the Freshman Guarantee Option for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and the Arts program, just to name a few. Core subjects are taught in historical sequence so students see the worlds of liter- ature, history, art, and philosophy as influenc- ing and shaping each historical time period. Belhaven is the first and only university in the country to offer a unique program called the Belhaven Promise. For full-time first-year students who remain continuously enrolled for four years and declare a double major, the fifth year of tuition is free. We want to fuel our stu- dents’ academic passions and help them max- imize their success. Combinations of majors are limited only by the imagination.
