A transfer-friendly school Canisius welcomes nearly 200 transfer students every year and offers a number of resources to help each new student make a smooth transi- tion. These resources include a dedicated trans- fer admission counselor, one-on-one academic advising, and transfer orientation. Our flexible transfer credit evaluation policy enables students to see which credits can be transferred to the College up front, even before you apply. Transfer students accepted for admission to Canisius will be automatically evaluated for an academic merit scholarship based on their cu- mulative college GPA. Additionally, there is a $2,000 Phi Theta Kappa or Alpha Beta Gamma scholarship for those inducted into one of these organizations.

Students are challenged to discover and debate practi- cal and ethical issues. They enjoy collaborations with faculty as they conduct research or work on special projects. Our students study animal behavior up close just blocks away from cam- pus at the Buffalo Zoo and examine trends for international trade along the US-Canadian border. Learning environments expand beyond Buffalo as well, with study abroad travel oppor- tunities available in a variety of countries. Flexible academic programs allow students to match courses with their strengths and inter- ests. Some even combine different areas for a dual or triple major. Students who aren’t sure what they want to study can go through the Pathfinders Academic Exploration Program. Every student at Canisius is encouraged to create their own unique academic path.
