Transfer-specific programs Rutgers recognizes the need for transfer stu- dents to feel prepared, confident, and excited about joining a new college community, so they are welcomed into the Scarlet Knight family with intentional programming. New transfer stu- dents also team up with a transfer mentor who’s “been there, done that” to help you adjust to life at Rutgers. Any transfer student has the opportunity to become a mentor for a future incoming student.
Students in Transition Seminar Available to School of Arts & Sciences students
only, this mandatory one-credit course intro- duces transfers to the skills necessary to be successful inside and outside the classroom.
Tau Sigma Honor Society This national honor society for transfers recog- nizes high academic achievement and pro- motes involvement at Rutgers. The Tau Sigma Honor Society (Gamma Xi chapter) is also only available to School of Arts & Sciences students.
Living-learning communities Rutgers offers incoming transfer students a multitude of learning community offerings. Stu- dents in learning communities enjoy the ben- efits of sharing residential and academic expe- riences while making new friends, exploring common interests, and being part of a close community of peers.
