Transferring to SUNY Oneonta

Whether you’re transferring from a small community college or a large university, SUNY Oneonta is a great place to continue your academic journey. In fact, 30% of our full-time students began their studies here as transfers. We strive to enroll an academically qualified and diverse student body. All applications are individually reviewed based on a variety of criteria, including: • A competitive and challenging academic program with courses related to your intended major

• A minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA (Education majors must have a 3.0 or higher) • A required performance audition for students looking to join the Music program

• An art portfolio for students looking to join the Art & Design (BFA) program

Transfer students aren’t required to live on campus, but those who do must complete two semesters of on-campus living. Some transfers can choose a Transfer Living Community that features mentoring and special programs.
